What types of batteries are used for Seltron products?

With Seltron room thermostats, room units and controllers, you use or have three types of batteries installed. 
They serve either to power the entire device or as an auxiliary power source for the continuous operation of the real-time clock when the device is not connected to the mains voltage.

 

H7, H7T, H11 and H11T room thermostats
They include one alkaline battery of AA or LR06 size. The battery needs to be replaced every two to four years or if traces of electrolyte or oxides are observed on the battery or the surrounding area. The replacement is made by inserting a new battery into the free battery compartment, and disposing the old battery.

 

 

ST1, T1, ST2R, ST2RDR room thermostats
They include two AAA and LR03 size alkaline batteries which need to be replaced each year, preferably before the start of the heating season.
Remove the room thermostat from the base, and then remove the old batteries and insert new ones. If this is done within 30 seconds, the accurate time on the clock will be maintained.

 

 

DD2 room units
They also include two AAA and LR03 size alkaline batteries which need to be replaced every four years.
Remove the room unit from the base, and then remove the old batteries and insert new ones. If this is done within 30 seconds, the accurate time on the clock will be maintained.

 

DD2+ room units
They are used with newer PROMATIC® WDC, WXD, KXD and CMP25-2 controllers’ product family; they do not need a battery.
The accurate time on the clock is automatically synchronised with the clock set in the controller.
With DD2+ room units, batteries are inserted only if they are used for older controllers, that is, when the S1 encoder switch on the room unit is switched to the ON position.

 

 

The PROMATIC® WDC, WXD, KXD heating controllers, the SGC differential controllers and the SCC return line controllers
They include built-in lithium CR2030 battery type (button cell).
They only serve for backup power of the accurate time on the clock and have a lifetime of up to 10 years.

 

 

 

 

 

CAUTION!
Do not replace lithium CR2030 batteries more often than it is necessary, that is, every 6 to 8 years. When replacing the battery, be especially careful not to damage the battery holder.
